However, staying with recent history, China is number-1 in the gold-medal rackup with 13-golds followed by 7-golds for the US and South Korea has 5 total. US-swimmer Michael Phelps tied the all-time record for most gold-medals won by an Olympian. He reached a record 9-golds after taking 3 of 3 victories thusfar in Beijing.
