Adobe's PDF format has long been consdiered the standard for moving print-quality documents around the interwebs... and now it looks like the successor to the Fax machine will be heading away from Adobe's stable, and will become a standardized format. Everyday users won't notice a true change... since most people use the format without thinking regardless. The real change could come when the next version of the PDF spec is released. By giving up the real rights to matininance of the spec, Adobe loses rights over what the spec can and cannot do. Now, it's up to the International Standards Organization to decide how PDFs will evolve and continue to change. As a side note, PDFs are the image and document format that OSX is based on now, and are going to play a crucial role in Vista. Speaking of vista, we'll have our vista launch show tomorrow, and tell you exactly which version of vista is right for you. Thanks for watching, check us out tomorrow.
