Colonia, Uruguay We paid a short visit to Uruguay during our trip. We jumped on the hydro foil ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia. The hydro foil ferry takes only about 45 min (as opposed to the regular ferry, which takes 1 ½ hours). You can go there in the morning and return in the afternoon. Colonia is a somewhat sleepy (as you'll see) but picturesque little town.
