Wineass 101: Dr. Grow Concord Grape Wine

When Ken goes to the Far East, it's his assignment to assess the current state of Asian wines. In this case, he brought us back a strange one from Japan. “Dr. Grow” is apparently made from Concord grapes grown in Washington. Yes, the same grapes as they use in jelly. After a Hard Gay moment, the Grapedonk said, “That smells just like a jelly sandwich!” What a surprise. “It's like taking a bite out of a jelly sandwich, then someone takes the sandwich out of your mouth and sticks in a Bic ink pen.” This may be why we usually don't make wine from Concord grapes. If you're brave enough to drink this, have it with some peanut butter cookies.
