My wife's car is a new 08.5 pearl white speed3. Personaly I think it is over priced & rated, under powered poor handeling tones of body flex and VERY uncomfortable. The bolsters are narrow and dig into the back of my ribs I'm 5'10" @190lbs. It has OK pick-up in first & second but falls on it's face in fourth, fith & sixth compaired to her M-Roadster. Yes there are lost of parts and loads of money that can help it, but your getting into the 40K range. And at that amount there are better cars that have all the ammenities ie. power seats, GPS, blue tooth, auto mirrors, duel climate control ect ect. But it's a chick car and she think's it's Ok
Interesting comment. Cars are an interesting topic, as they evoke so many different emotions. With regard to your comments regarding your wife's car, I am amused. An M-Roadster and a MazdaSpeed 3 are in completely different classes. I happen to have an Imola Red 2002 BMW M-Roadster that I presented to my wife as a wedding gift. It is a car she loves to drive - and in fact, she was not thrilled with the MazdaSpeed 3. However, it is an Apple to the BMW's orange. Find another car for $23,800 (the cost of the MazdaSpeed 3) that is as quick and offers the performance and utility of the MazdaSpeed 3 and we'll have a topic for discussion. The MazdaSpeed 3 is supposed to be quick - not fast. And, it's supposed to deliver appropriate fuel mileage. That's why it's gears are so tall in 4th, 5th, and 6th. As a car guy, you've probably figured that out - or did you miss that? And, by the way, when measuring the dimensions of the MazdaSpeed 3, the seats did some up. At the inside edge of the bolsters, there is a difference with the M-Roadster, but it's minimal. So, adding dollars to the MazdaSpeed 3 beyond wheels and tires and a NAV with Bluetooth would be a waste... And ultimately, you're right: it is a chick car, but that's cool, too. I don't agree that it's overpriced, per my comments herein. Don't sell your M-Roadster. They're both reliable and a blast.
If your WRX is slowing down and your SRT is rattling apart, it's time to have a look at the Mazda Speed3. In this exclusive video test drive, learn how to shift fast and get the most out of this marvel of automotive engineering.
