Dr. Laura Murray, from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, comments on the high value of the "Chinese Language Immersion Sports Camp" for American high school kids to learn to speak, read and write the Chinese Language. Dr. Murray is overseeing a US Government program called STARTALK that sponsors language skill developments among US citizens in "strategic languages" (e.g., Arabic and Chinese). She works closely with Prof. Cyndy Ning, director of the CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE at the University of Hawaii where recently 30 high school kids were exposed to Chinese language classes and Chinese national sports like ping-pong and martial arts. This video shows some highlights from the martial art classes instructed by Xiu Zhang, Assistant Professor at the Hawaii Language Training Center, and President of the Hawaii Wushu Center.
