hi. i really need your help. my itouch is still stuck @ this "BSD root..." thing. even when i turn it off and back it goes back to the "BSD root..." thing and my itunes doesn't detect my itouch anymore. i don't know what to do and i don't really know how to boot my itouch or however you call it.

if you could email me and help me out it would be really great!

thanks!

here's my email add: irene_10_belgar@hotmail.de

What are the improvements to the iphone with this upgrade...?

Where do you download that strange jailbreaker?

Can you email to me please? At joshua.w.harris@gmail.com thnx!

Please help,

Josh

I don't kno how this worked but anyway, i followed this guide and got the BSD root error so i just held down home and power and let it restart so that it showed up in iTunes. I then went back to ZiPhone, clicked normal mode and it was jailbroken already even though id had the error.

Thanks sooo much. The first attempt miserably failed in the BSD root error, and I think I shat myself, thinking I had a $400 paperweight. I found out how to enter recovery mode, tried again, and now I have a 16gb 1.1.4 with January Upgrade. Thanks again!

everytime I do this, it still shows the BSD root error. My iPod is also a 16gb w/FW 1.1.4

I don't know why...but every time I try this my 16g touch says 'downgrading bootloader' right after it shows the mac addy.

if u could email me at quintony@comcast.net to tell me exactly how to restore it from the bsd root problem i would gladly try this and leave a responce ty.

The way I found to get around the BSD root error is as follows: Working from a just restored unnamed by iTunes (although I doubt it matters) 1.1.4 firmware. I launched ZiPhone and instead of clicking on Jailbreak once I started clicking on jailbreak many times and kept clicking on it until the iPod was at the BSD root part. At this point it continued and I closed ZiPhone before it finished. Feel free to doubt this method because I know I would but please give it a try and please report back so others may also potentially benefit from this.
