Cameroon is a safe Central African Republic bordered to the west by the Gulf of Guinea. One of the most diverse countries in Africa, Cameroon is often referred to as "Africa in miniature?. Cameroon has everything you would expect from the African continent; tropical rainforests, deserted golden beaches, great expanses of desert, vast lakes and savannah, and volcanic mountains in-between. Compared with other African countries, Cameroon enjoys political and social stability. Nevertheless, large numbers of Cameroonians live in poverty as subsistence farmers. The unemployment rate is high and those who are employed perform mostly agricultural tasks. The HIV/AID crises have hit hard especially the children, many of whom lack proper healthcare. www.abroaderview.org
