Nothing is more exciting in this industry than seeing first hand the offshore operations in the hunt for Oil and Gas, I am Richard Loomis, CEO of World Energy Magazine and today we are heading out to see a real "field of dreams". Located approximately 90 miles southwest of Houston and 30 miles east of Port O'Connor, Texas. Pompano sits seven miles off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico in approximately 55 feet of water. The field was originally developed by a local independent, Zapata, in the late 1980s. Pompano produced more than 120 billion cubic feet of gas. It was shut in and all but forgotten in the early 1990s. The trend that includes Pompano produced more than 850 billion cubic feet before being passed over by the majors as they headed toward deep water. Now Buccaneer Energy, an ASX listed company under the leadership of Cutis Burton and Elixir, another ASX listed company under the leadership of Jon Stuart have teamed together with operator Ana Texas to redevelop this field
