Seeing this on the discovery channel was my introduction to the Atom, but I actually got to see one in person last year at X'07. Microsoft was promoting Project Gotham Racing 4 by giving attendees rides in Ferraris, Porsches and Ariel Atoms.
The Ariel Atom is what you call a road rocket; no side panels, no protection -- just pure speed.
