I bought a Gateway NX 8600 a while back and I'm very happy with it. They've since stopped making them, but the spiritual successor is the P series. Deep keyboard, even wider screen, and better graphical capabilities (since you apparently do video editing.)

The weight can be an issue, especially since I chose the bigger battery, but I think it's worth it.
