That looks like a green screen was used, the people don't look like they are actually there.

Hi, thanks for comment.. you are my first comment, so congrats.. they are really there, but on the cross fade cross over edit I used after effects to cut the front people free from the background so they could fade with the popel behind..also allot of the iflm is running backwards which is how they are able to jump into the word.. they are in fact falling out of the pose.. all the best and thanks

Many people of all physical abilities and ages were filmed on the streets of Gateshead making the words of a poem with their bodies. The project was supported by Gateshead council arts team as part of the 'Angel of the North' 10th birthday celebrations. The poem is by Kevin Cadwallender working with local over 50s groups. This is my go at doing this, I'd be really interested to see any examples of similar ways of making words or people who have done the same thing but maybe developed it more as I am intrested in this kind of thing. The poem was by Kevin Cadwallender and the work was commsioned to celebrate the 10th birthday of the Angel of the North...Thanks, hope you like.
